....and we will never put it out. What does that mean for WomanFest?
We set out to create Woman Fest as a 4 day experience of true Sisterhood, a reconnection with the Earth and a deep dive into the essence and power of Womanhood - what makes us women in all our forms and how that can be used as a greater expression - this would bubble over and ripple from the festival like a beacon, calling us all home to ourselves as well as a step towards becoming the restorer species, the next step in our evolution if we are to reverse the damage we as a capitalist society have caused to the natural world.
We see a world where us as women are not fighting for rights and autonomy, but leading the way towards the world we know is possible, at WomanFest, that world already exists.
Yet any WomanFest will never get larger than 1,000 women - we want to keep in intimate - to develop community and have the ability to delve deeper into what's important - so how do we spread our wings across the world?
Enter the WomanFest Sow-the-seed Initiative - One where we Franchise out WomanFest so any group of women can start one in any country, supported by us and the TreeSisters, giving women across the world the chance to experience WomanFest.
It is with great pleasure that we can say it has already begun! With the Birth this year of VROUENFEST Belgium!
WomanFest Sow-the-seed Initiative
How it Works
Minimum 3 of the Women arranging one in their area/country must have attended an already established WomanFest
The "Bones" remain the same - The festival is rooted in Radical Participation, must have an Opening and Closing Ceremony, and Contain the 5 main Tents of Creativity, Expression, Embodiment, a Women's Circle (to lay respect to the ancient ways) and Womyn Rising (to explore the new). There must be a wide range of affordability with the tickets and the festival feeds everyone from a community kitchen (food included in ticket price). Other than that - it is left to be coloured in by the culture of women coming.
There is a deep commitment to being as sustainable as possible
WomanFest Provides the festival with the initial investment to kick-start it, access to our global marketing and our team to help support the birthing with support for setting up and running the festival.
WomanFest owns 51% of any company set-up to run the festival, or gets 51% profits (after initial investment is returned) that returns to HQ for distribution between WomanFest run initiatives and TreeSisters
The venture is as autonomous as each group desires, with a "quality control" clause that WomanFest can come in if the festival is not in alignment with our Values.
